Religions and Worldviews is a curriculum-aligned educational framework for Australian schools. It equips teachers to create respectful learning environments where students explore big ideas—like belief, identity and meaning—through the lens of worldviews.
At its heart is a simple idea: everyone has a worldview.
A worldview is more than a set of beliefs—it’s the unique lens through which each person understands and navigates life.
Whether religious or non-religious, our worldviews shape how we live, relate to others, and make sense of the world around us.

Why it matters
Classrooms today reflect Australia’s rich diversity. Students need support to explore complex topics with care, clarity and respect.
Religions and Worldviews gives teachers the tools and confidence to guide these conversations well—fostering curiosity, self-reflection and understanding, without promoting any one perspective.
This framework supports students to engage meaningfully with difference—and to consider how we can live well together in a pluralistic society.

Religions and Worldviews has been developed over nearly four years through extensive consultation and collaboration between faith leaders, multifaith organisations, educators and cultural groups across Australia.
Together, they’ve created a framework that supports respectful, age-appropriate dialogue about the religious and non-religious ideas that shape life in contemporary Australia and beyond.
